Presentación del Libro "¡Esto no es africano! Del Cairo a Ciudad del Cabo a través de los amores prohibidos"
"This is not African!" they say from Cairo to Cape Town when talking about loves that are not between a man and a woman. This is also the pretext for people to be persecuted, threatened or expelled from their families, imprisoned or thought to be "possessed by the devil."
The journalist Marc Serena travelled for seven months from north to south of the African continent to meticulously portray the most helpless African people: gays, lesbians, bisexuals, trans-sexuals and intersexuals.
In these pages you will meet a cook, an imam, a mother or a computer expert. Fifteen characters who must confront the government, police, judges, the media and the family, who see their way of loving as a "western perversion."
This is the chronicle of the struggle for freedom of people who are rich and poor, deeply religious and agnostic, who come from huge metropolis and remote tribes. A journey through fifteen countries to understand why this is one of the most systematic attacks on human rights, and at the same time the one that is kept the most quiet, in the world.
Marc Serena works as a journalist in various media. At twenty-five he portrayed his generation in La vuelta de los 25, the blog of an adventure that was considered by Lonely Planet as the best in the world for a non-English language. He has visited about seventy countries and the magazine Viajar considers him one of the "great Spanish travellers of the 21st century".
