Planeta Madrid
As in these last years, ethnic music (or World music) will be prominently featured in the lineup of the 2010 San Isidro fiestas.
Planeta Madrid is a space for broadcasting folk music, with artists along the likes of Lila Downs (Mexico) or the Orchestre National de Barbés (France).
Planeta Madrid is also a way to draw attention towards sustainable development and the environmental problems that affect this mistreated planet, with a special focus on recycling and saving energy.
Planeta Madrid will be structured into three areas:
-
One area for music, with performances by Spanish and international artists from 5:00 pm until 12:30 am.
-
A children´s area, with workshops and a section for games.
-
A fair trade area.
África Vive will be present at this festival with the Senegalese group Jac et le Takeifa and its rich and catchy African style pop. The group will perform in the music area on Saturday, May 15, at the Paseo de la Chopera 6 (Arganzuela district, next to Matadero Madrid). Admission is free until capacity is reached.
