Nuevos desafíos para el sector portuario. 9ª Asamblea General del ICHCA
Casa África's General Director, Luis Padrón, will attend as a guest to participate in the various meetings and gatherings on port matters that will take place during the 9th General Assembly of the Regional Division of the Canary Islands - Africa ICHCA, jointly organised by the Ports of Las Palmas Foundation and the Ghana Port and Harbours Authority.
It will take place from 28th to 30th October 2015 in Ghana and in addition to the full programme of events that always accompanies this assembly, as a novelty this year there will be a two-day seminar taught by experts of ICHCA International.
ICHCA is the acronym for International Cargo Handling Coordination Association, an independent, non-profit making organisation founded in 1952 which is dedicated to improving safety, sustainability, productivity and efficiency of cargo handling and movement of goods.
During this ninth assembly, which will take place in the Hotel Royal Nick of Tema, Ghana, a seminar will be held, which will have the new challenges facing the port sector as its main topic, and also addressing different topics throughout the two day seminar:
Day one: Packing and weighing. The Challenges. The aim of day 1 is to update the delegates on the new responsibilities for international logistics regarding the Code of Practice of packaging practices ILO/IMO/UNECE for cargo transport units (CTUs) and the IMO legislation on the verification of weighing containers and associated transport.
Day two: Packing and weighing. Solutions and opportunities. The aim of the day 2 is to discuss the solutions to the challenges posed the previous day and learn about potential opportunities to develop and advance communications.
