Jornadas conmemorativas por el 56º aniversario de la independencia de Senegal
On the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the independence of Senegal, the Coordinator of Senegalese Associations of the Canary Islands (CASAC) and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria are organising commemorative workshops in which different themes such as immigration, co-development and citizen participation will be addressed.
Casa África will host some of these workshops on 14 and 15 April in its Nelson Mandela auditorium. In addition, Casa África will hold a painting exhibition of abstract art by the Senegalese artist Abdoulaye Diop, known as “Pekhé”, which opens in the Sahel room as part of the conference programme.
The workshops will be held in different locations:
- 14 and 15 April from 10am to 6pm. Casa África C/. Alfonso XIII, 5. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
- 16 April from 10am to 2pm. Gabinete Literario. Plaza Cairasco 1. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

- 17 April at 8pm. Closing Event. Performance of the Thioune Brothers in the Victor Jara Theatre in Santa Lucía de Tirajana
