Jornada 2012 sobre las licitaciones internacionales del Banco Africano de Desarrollo en materia de agua y saneamiento
The African Development Bank (AfDB) is an international institution that is dedicated to promoting development in African countries through infrastructure, governance, higher education and private sector projects.
El AfDB is improving its strategy to guarantee that water will reach the greatest amount of people. In 2010, this international institution funded 66 projects in 36 countries on the African continent, for a value of 2,000 million dollars.
This multilateral organisation has set itself some ambitious targets over the next few years, amongst which include ensuring that 80% of the rural African population and 74% of the inhabitants of cities on the continent have access to water networks before 2015.
Funding for activities linked to water have grown exponentially over the last few years, going from an average 70 million dollars a year before 2002, to more than 460 million invested per year between 2002 and 2009.
There are many Spanish companies who wish to make the leap abroad in search of new opportunities, but many of them do not know how to do so. International tenders are a good starting point for Spanish companies to make first contact with our neighbouring continent and to start up a relationship that is usually beneficial to both parties.
Due to this, meetings like this will be held, and this one will take place on 16th November 2012 at the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Edificio Olympo, Plaza de la Candelaria, 2, 4ª Planta) following this programme.
