IX Asamblea del Distrito 2201 de Rotary

The Director General of Casa África, Luis Padrón, has been invited to participate in the IX Assembly of the District 2201Rotary Club, which will take place from 15 to 17 April 2016 at the Granja de San Ildefonso in Segovia.

He will present to the assembly the new projects and forthcoming agreements on which this organization, with its wide links with Africa, is working.

Luis Padrón will speak to the clubs that make up district 2201 and to other members of Rotary International, at the second plenary session on 15 April. His presentation, which will begin at 4pm as shown on the programme, will focus on the importance of diplomacy in relations between Spain and Africa.

This collaboration between the two institutions arises from the common denominator of Africa, the continent on which Casa África focuses all its activities and where the Rotary Club also employs many of its resources, so there is great synergy for the two bodies to move forward in the development of joint projects and in mutual support.

The Director General of Casa África will take advantage of this invitation, and the forum offered by the Rotary Club, to explain the function and main activities of the organisation he leads to all the event’s attendees.

The Rotary Club consists of 1.2 million members worldwide. Neighbours, friends and community leaders who together drive changes to improve life in their own towns and therefore in the world. Since each member has their own profession and they come from different cultures and countries, the Rotary Club views local and world events from a multidisciplinary perspective, and always in a spirit of service to others.

The work of the Rotary Club begins with the work carried out by the members themselves, working together to solve community problems. Rotary International, the organization that incorporates the Rotary Clubs and the Rotary Foundation, grants awards through donations received and thus supports the worldwide work of Rotarians and their partners. It is the members themselves who lead the Rotary Club and promote the mission and values of the organization through their positions.
