Iniciativa Atlántica por el Turismo 2015
Casa África's Director General participates as a panellist at this international conference on Atlantic initiative for tourism organised by the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Morocco and the World Tourism Organisation (WTO) to address the following topics:
-The new emerging market of opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic
-The strengthening of the South-South and North-South cooperation led by Morocco
-The reaffirmation of Morocco's commitment with the implementation of resolutions (A/RES/65/173 and A/RES/67/223) submitted by its initiative to the United Nations General Assembly in 2010 and 2012 respectively, regarding the promotion of ecotourism as a means that is capable of reducing inequalities, improving living conditions and ensuring economic growth in developing countries.
The objectives and expected outcomes of this conference are:
- Strengthening collaboration between countries on both sides of the Atlantic
- Sharing experiences in the tourism industry
- Creating a roadmap for the development of tourism on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean in what will be the Rabat Declaration. This declaration will aim to promote mutual understanding and exchange of experiences and best practices for sustainable development of tourism in the countries on both sides of the Atlantic. It should also make it possible to build and strengthen cooperative ties, increasing the flow of tourists between the countries concerned.
The main theme chosen for the conference is: Tourism as a vehicle for strengthening relations between peoples and civilizations on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. This issue can be addressed from various angles through different lines of action that make it possible to bring people nearer and that give title to the three panels that make up the conference:
- The development of air and sea transport to strengthen tourism between the two shores of the Atlantic Ocean
- Culture as a factor of tourist development and rapprochement between peoples
- The valuation of fragile ecosystems and biodiversity as a vehicle for the development of this tourism niche.
The conference will take place at ISESCO's headquarters, the Islamic Organization for Education, Science, and Culture: Avenue des F.A.R, Hay Ryad, PO Box 2275, PC Code 10104-Rabat-Marruecos
