Ghana Fashion and Design Week 2012
As the result of an agreement that Casa África signs yearly with the Department of Industry, Commerce and Crafts at the Council of Gran Canaria, a designer from the Canary Islands will be present as a guest on an African fashion catwalk, thus supporting the development of this industry and the relationships and exchanges between Spanish and African designers.
As previously occurred in 2011 by holding Dakar Fashion Week, where the designer from the Canary Islands Juan Roga travelled to the Senegalese capital to show his collections and the designer Adama Paris was present at Gran Canaria Moda Cálida, this year it will be the designer María González, with her trade brand María Mía, who will visit Ghana Fashion & Design Week (GFDW).
María Mía is a women's prêt-a-porter label, which is exclusively made to order, with collections that have been uninterruptedly presented since 1985 in Gran Canaria, Madrid, Barcelona and London with which María González always looks for "magic", flawless cut, complicity and above all good taste.
The GFDW (Ghana Fashion and Design Week) is an international contemporary platform dedicated to managing, leading and promoting both recognised and emerging designers in an international audience.
