Encuentro empresarial US-Africa en Casa África

The US Department of Commerce and the  Virginia/DC District Export Council -DEC, organise through PROEXCA, together with the Department of Economy, Industry, Trade and Knowledge of the Government of the Canary Islands, a  business mission to the Canary Islands from 16th to 20th November 2015.

The purpose of this inverse mission is to foster the collaboration between businesses connected with the American and the Canary Islands renewable energy sector to carry out projects in West Africa.

This business mission, certified by the United States Department of Commerce, is an initiative supported from the Obama administration, as actions included in the package of initiatives to develop with Africa.

In addition, PROEXCA strongly supports the African participation in the next edition of AFRICAGUA, which will take place from 19th to 20th November 2015, with a presence of countries such as Senegal, Morocco, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Gabon or Cape Verde.

Casa África, which as an entity that promotes the Canary Islands archipelago as an international hub for Africa, offers its headquarters as a meeting point for the creation of contact networks between public and private institutions in Spain and Africa. In fact, the Canary Islands offers significant tax incentives for companies, which is why each time there are more entities that operate from the archipelago due to its proximity and good connection with Africa.

For all these reasons, Casa África will host the B2B meetings between companies from the Canary Islands and the US involved in this business mission. The business meetings will take place on 18th November during the hours of 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

In addition, on that same day, Casa África's Director General, Luis Padron, will hold a meeting with Nola Kianza, Founder and Executive Director of the Canadian Council for Africa, responsible for the promotion of trade and economic development between Canada and Africa since 2002 and that shall also be at Africagua.

On the other hand, Casa África shall also sign an agreement with the American company IP3 to carry out training courses at Casa África, primarily addressed at Africans.

IP3, Institute of Public-Private Partnerships with headquarters in Washington DC, is a leader in the training and certification of specialists in public-private partnerships. IP3 advises governments, financial institutions and corporations in all aspects of the management in these types of projects, including the development of the appropriate regulatory framework, transactional and financial structuring of projects, drafting of contracts, management and monitoring of risks, contracting of insurance or processes for the resolution of disputes. IP3 collaborates with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and has as customers, the World Bank, the UN and USAID, among others.

Consult here the relationship of American companies  that will attend the business meeting, as well as information of interest about them.
