Casa África participa en la Conferencia de Naciones Unidas para el Comercio y el Desarrollo (UNCTAD 14)
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is a high-level meeting held every four years in order to promote investment, development and trade in developing countries. Each UNCTAD sees the participation of heads of state and government, minsters and government representatives, international government organizations, international NGOs, academic institutions and the private sector.
The Conference includes high-level round table discussions of key issues concerning the international economic environment. There are also a series of side events aimed at promoting discussions in different areas of development.
Luis Padrón, Director General of Casa África, will attend the fourteenth UNCTAD, which is being held from 17 to 22 July in Nairobi (Kenya). Under the banner From decision to action, this year’s conference will address issues such as the challenges and opportunities which multilateralism presents for trade and development; promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth; the promotion of economic structural change and cooperation to create economic resilience; and contribution to the effective implementation and monitoring of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
The visit of the Director General of Casa África will also enable institutional meetings to be set up with agencies in the country, organized in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Kenya.
