África Fútbol Club
From the very moment it was set up, Casa África has collaborated with the Federation of African Associations in the Canary Islands (FAAC) in the different activities organised and aimed at integration and mutual knowledge.
Among other activities, Casa África started up the first and second Tournaments of África Vive 7 a side Football as part of the editions of África Vive 2010 and 2011, both times counting with the collaboration of FAAC and the Town Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In these, different teams who were made up by players that came from different African countries faced each other.
As part of these projects, the football team"África Football Club" came about, made up by young Africans resident in Gran Canaria and who came from the national African teams that had taken part in the aforementioned Tournaments of África Vive 2010 and 2011.
From the hand of FAAC, Casa África now supports the participation of this team in the"VII Liga de Aficionados: Promesas Canarias" that takes place from October 2011 until June 2012. A total of 26 sessions will be played where 14 teams will participate on the island of Gran Canaria, amongst which we find "África Football Club".
Football has demonstrated to be a sporting activity that manages to bring together different groups and FAAC has also verified that hosting these types of sporting events helps to strengthen ties between Africans resident in the Canary Islands around a common platform. Because of this, Casa África has decided to back these types of activities, as they are a good opportunity to encourage cohesion and knowledge between Africans and their associations in the Canary Islands and contributes to integration and mutual knowledge.
